About this site

madisonwarehouse.com is a small directory of warehouses and cold stores, with some notes on how the business works. We put it together in 2026 for people who need to find storage and don’t want to wade through brokers and lead forms to do it.

The directory lists companies that actually run warehouses. For each one we read their own website, write a short description of what they do at that location, and link to the page we used. Listings are free, and there’s no paid placement and no advertising on the site. If you want to know exactly how we decide what goes in, thelisting policy spells it out.

The articles cover the questions that come up when you first buy warehouse space: how storage and handling are billed, what the contract terms mean, which kind of storage a product needs, and how goods get out the door afterwards. They link to the regulations and standards they’re based on, so you can read the source yourself.

The old Madison Warehouse

If you came here looking for the cold storage company, you’re about ten years late. From around 2000 until 2016 this domain belonged to a US business that traded as Castle & Cooke Cold Storage and Madison Warehouse, offering refrigerated and public warehousing, transportation and records storage. Its website went offline around 2016 and the domain eventually lapsed.

We registered the domain in 2026. We have nothing to do with that company or whoever took over its business, and we can’t help with its former customers’ goods, invoices or records.

Plenty of other websites still link to the old pages, so we kept those addresses working. The old services pages now open our pages on public warehousing, storage types and transportation. The records storage page leads to our records storage notes, the facilities page to thesite visit checklist, and the old history pages bring you here.

Who’s behind it

The site is run by people who work in warehousing and freight. We publish under the site’s name rather than our own, and every article shows when it was last updated.
