How we list companies

The short answer: for free, from the company’s own website, in alphabetical order. The longer answer is below.

Who gets listed

We list businesses that operate warehouses or cold stores themselves. Freight brokers, space marketplaces and sites that collect your details to sell on to someone else don’t go in, even if they mention warehousing.

A listing is only as good as its source, so we stick to what the company publishes about itself. If the website says the Kent building does frozen storage and cross-docking, that’s what we write. We don’t add square footage, temperatures, certifications or anything else the company hasn’t published, and we don’t guess at addresses. Every listing links to the page we read and shows the month we checked it.

We don’t rate, rank or review anyone. Within a city the order is alphabetical. We also wait until we have at least3 companies in a city before giving it a page, because a page with one name on it isn’t much use to anyone.

Money

Nobody pays to be listed, and we don’t sell better positions or links. There are no ads, affiliate links or sponsored posts on the site. If that ever changes, anything paid will be clearly marked and kept out of the directory.

Keeping it current

Companies move, close and get bought. We go back over the listings from time to time, and when a website stops working or a building closes, the listing is updated or removed. Any company can ask us to change or remove its listing, and we’ll do it.

The articles

The articles are written for people buying or running warehouse services. Where we mention a law, a standard or a number, we link to where it comes from, and we prefer the original source (the regulation itself, the agency, the standards body) over someone else’s summary. If we can’t find a reliable source for a figure, we leave it out.

None of it is legal, tax or customs advice. Rules change, so for anything with real money riding on it, check with a broker, accountant or lawyer.
